Tennis – Upper Macungie Township

All UMT Recreational Tennis programs are instructed by USPTR Certified Tennis professional Brian Bleam.

This program runs from approximately May- August each year taking place at either Blue Barn Park of Rick Park. Thank you Brian Bleam and UMT tennis participants for making this program so successful! We are excited for the 2022 Season. See Schedule below.

Brian Bleam played tennis collegiately
and is a PTR certified tennis instructor. He has deep roots in the Lehigh Valley and has coached district and state champions for both Salisbury and Emmaus High School, Muhlenberg College and has served as the head tennis pro at Oakmont Tennis Club for many years. Brian really enjoys teaching the game of tennis to both adults and youth, and is very active doing so throughout the Lehigh Valley. Brian looks forward to another great season coaching in Upper Macungie Township!

Assistant Instructor: Ed Pfenninger

Ed also played tennis collegiately and is a USPTA Certified Teaching Professional. While in college, he began teaching tennis at Sea Colony Resort in Bethany Beach, Delaware. He then taught in Florida at the Boca West Country Club. Ed has instructed tennis at several clubs in the area, and most recently has been on the coaching staff for the Allen High School Boys and Girls teams. Ed has a passion for tennis, and has dedicated his life to playing and teaching future players this “lifetime sport.”
