When can I apply for a UMT Summer Camp Position?
You can hand in a completed application anytime throughout the year, but we do most of our hiring for summer employment during the spring months.
Will I get an interview if I complete an application?
We try our best to grant all applicants an interview, however an interview is not guaranteed. Having an interview does not guarantee you will be hired.
What if I attended an Upper Macungie Township camp before?
There is no guarantee that attending the Upper Macungie Township Summer Camp program as a participant will result in a future position.
How old do you have to be to be a counselor?
16 years of age.
If I am considered for a position, are there any dates outside of camp that I will be required to work?
Yes. There are mandatory training and set up days for the summer camp.Training and set up days will be communicated to you in the hiring process should you be selected for a position.
Can I choose what camp site I want to work at?
We try our best to accommodate your site placement preference. However there is no guarantee you will be placed at your first or second preference. Your site assignment will be given to you when you are hired.
What is the pay rate?
The hourly pay rate depends on the job that you have applied for. Please refer to the Job Descriptions for pay rates.

If you have any questions regarding your application or camp in general, please contact the Recreation Department at 610-395-4892 ext 130 or recreation@uppermac.org. If you are hired, during staff training you will be given contact information for the Summer Camp Coordinator to address any questions regarding Summer Camp operations.

- Prior employment with Upper Macungie Township does not guarantee rehire
- If hired, continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment items
