 DUE TO THE CURRENT MOVE OF UMTPD TO THE UMT TOWNSHIP BUILDING, FINGERPRINTING SERVICES ARE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE AT THIS TIME

The Upper Macungie Township Police Department provides fingerprinting services for the residents of Upper Macungie Township free of charge during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. An appointment is required and can be scheduled by calling the police department during normal business hours at (484) 661-5911 or by emailing nmorris@uppermac-pd.org to arrange your fingerprinting appointment.

• Please note that these posted hours of fingerprinting may be cancelled at any time when/if the operational needs of this facility dictate the need.
• If you reside in a municipality that has a full time Police Department you are encouraged to report to that agency for fingerprinting needs.

When being fingerprinted please do the following:

• Present your identification and related fingerprinting documents to the desk person.
• Wash your hands in the lobby restroom.

Lehigh County residents who have expired and unused over-the-counter and prescription medications will be able to discard those medication in a permanent collection box located at Upper Macungie Township Police Department located at 37 Grim Road, Breinigsville, PA.

Residents can place medications in the box anonymously, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There will be no charge to residents for this service and no requirement to provide personal information or identification when using the box.

Signs are posted on each box informing residents of the types of items that can be placed in the boxes and those that are not accepted. Items that are accepted are prescription and over-the-counter medications, samples, vitamins, prescription ointments, prescription patches and pet medications.

Items that are not accepted are syringes, needles, Sharps or other sharp objects, medications from businesses and clinics, lotions or liquids, aerosol cans, inhalers, hydrogen peroxide and thermometers.

Residents - Do You Want Public Safety Announcements From the UMTPD Right to Your Mobile Device?

Register for Nixle, our public safety alert system. Nixle Alerts from the UMT Police Department can be sent via text or email.

What is Nixle?
Neighborhood-level to community-level: public safety alerts; up-to-the-minute need-to-know information; advisories, reminders, and last minute cancellations; municipal and community news, happenings, events, and any other relevant information an AIP wants to send out through the service.

Smart Safety Alerts by Phone

In the event of a major emergency, Lehigh County Emergency Management provides residents and visitors with a telephonic safety alert system called REVERSE 911.

You may already have this valuable service. Traditional wireline telephone systems—such as Verizon, Ironton, Service Electric, Frontier, Blue Ridge and RCN—are already in the Reverse 911 system, even unlisted numbers.

But if you have “landline VOIP” phone service (Vonage and Magic Jack are a few examples) you may have to register your number for Reverse 911.

Also if you want your wireless cell phone notified by Reverse 911, you must register your number. Note that during times of widespread emergency situations, cellular telephone networks may be overloaded so messages may not be sent by wireless carriers in a timely manner.

As a courtesy to all Upper Macungie Township residents, UMTPD officers will conduct security checks of your home, at your request, if you are leaving town on vacation.

Important: Residents requesting vacation house checks must secure all doors and windows before leaving. Any open doors and windows will be investigated by an officer and the house will be secured. In addition, we strongly recommend that you designate a local point of contact for our officers as well as list the best way we can contact you in case of an emergency. All residential check information is private data and will not be shared with the public. Information on this form will only be shared internally for the purpose of checking on your home.

Please Note: Police service calls, especially in emergency service calls are our department’s main priority. Therefore, this may affect our ability to check your home. Submitting this request does not guarantee 24-hour home protection.

The Police Department will not check houses that are:

• Homes that are vacant, for sale or under construction
• Homes in which the owner is in an extended care facility
• Homes where someone will be staying in the house (children, friends or family)

• Call: Contact the Upper Macungie Township Police Department by phone at (484) 661-5911 during regular business hours.
