SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT FOR REFUSE\RECYCLING-- The Township offers a $30.00 senior discount for trash and recycling to anyone over 65, with proof of age. The discount may be taken for the year or by the quarter. You must own and reside at the residence. You only have to prove your age one time, with a Drivers License or other photo ID, and the Senior discount will apply as long as you own and reside in your home.

Yard Waste Pick up Scheduled for May 2008 CURBSIDE COLLECTION for YARD WASTE

If you are moving in to the Township, or just have a lot of cardboard, there is a new recycling container for cardboard at the Township building. This container is for Upper Macungie Township residents only. The container is in the UMT municipal building parking lot. All boxes must be flattened and cut down into 2 feet by 4 feet pieces. You may still recycle cardboard curbside as well. Please do not put anything except cardboard in this container. The drop-off site will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

As of January 1, 2007 a new contract with Raritan Valley Disposal is in effect for trash hauling and recycling. Upper Macungie Township is going to be using a 95 gallon trash container, which will be supplied by the Township. You may purchase a second container for $55.00. NO LOOSE TRASH will be accepted. You will still be allowed one bulk item a week OR one white good a week. You should call Raritan Valley Disposal for a white good pick up (washer, dryer, etc.), as a separate truck will be needed to pick up those items.
We will be selling a $50.00 bulk pick up sticker for extra trash. The sticker may be purchased 4 times a year per property. This sticker may be used for a pick up of a large anount of trash equal to an amount that would fit in the back of a pick up truck.
A Senior Citizen Discount of $30.00 for those over 65 years of age will be available for those who own and reside in their homes. The discount may be by the year or the quarter. If you qualify for the Senior discount, please come in to the Township building with proof of age.
A 5 % yearly discount will be available to all residents who pay in full for the year before March 30.
