Building Code Administrator:
Upper Macungie Township is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Building Code Administrator. This is a full-time position which consists of administrative and technical assignments to determine if plans and specifications conform to regulations, and code enforcement; supervising timely flow of applications, plan review, permit process and responsible for the overall activities and provide direction to the Community Development clerical/administrative staff.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and record keeping skills, exercise some independent judgement and initiatives. Strong communication skills are essential in interactions with the public, contractors, officials, and staff; must be able to maintain effective working relationships.
The applicant must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid PA Driver’s License, minimum 5 years’ experience in building inspection and code administration, and hold the following minimum Certifications and Licenses: Building Code Official, Pa Inspector’s License, UCC Code Certification. Must have a minimum of one (1) year supervising, with formal education of Codes Enforcement or Inspection, comprehensive knowledge of PA UCC, ICC, inspections and techniques. Municipal government experience preferred.
