Upper Macungie Township is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time hourly position of Administrative Assistant/Receptionist. This position will be the first line of contact with the public. The position will entail a variety of office duties such as, greeting visitors, customer service, routing incoming telephone calls, assisting the public with various applications, prepares correspondence, as well as filing, scanning and inputting data. The receptionist will provide general administrative and clerical support to various staff members, as needed.

This position requires a basic knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, customer service principles and practices, Right to Know Act and municipal government, as well as experience with modern office equipment technology and common office software knowledge. Must be able to communicate effectively, possess great customer service, able to prepare letters and reports. The successful applicant shall have a minimum of years (2) years’ experience as an administrative assistant, possess strong computer skills and be willing to learn, must be reliable & possess attention to detail.

Upper Macungie Township is currently accepting applications for the positions of (2) full-time hourly Police Patrol Officers, within the Upper Macungie Township Police Department (UMTPD). Applicants are required to have a valid driver’s license, be a U.S. citizen, be 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have completed Act 120 training. Testing dates are as follows: Written and Physical Agility: 03/05/16. Upper Macungie Township is accepting applications for part-time employment in the public works department at the rate of $8.50 per hour.

Duties involved are, but not limited to: Opens and closes the recycling center, assists the users of the facility regarding the operating hours, acceptable materials, placement in the appropriate areas, and directs traffic as needed. Applicant must have a valid PA Driver’s License, be at least 18 years of age or older, be medically and physically able to perform all job tasks, work independently outdoors in all weather conditions, possess good oral communication skills and pass a pre-employment background check as well as a post-offer physical with drug screen.

Candidate must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays, if circumstances warrant.
