The Upper Macungie Township Police Department has announced that it will now begin accepting applications for its first annual Citizens Police Academy. This exciting opportunity will allow adult participants to get a behind-the-scenes look at police work through the eyes of officers that perform their duties on a daily basis. Students will get extensive teaching in regards to SWAT, K-9, drug investigations, criminal investigations, and more.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and older. Classes will be held every Saturday, 10am-12pm, starting October 4th through November 8th. The majority of the courses will be held at UMTPD headquarters, 37 Grim Rd, Breinigsville, Pa.

All applications must be returned by October 1, 2014.

* The academy class will be limited to 30 students. Applications will be excepted on a first come, first serve basis. Upper Macungie residents will have first priority seating, however the class is welcome to all Pennsylvania residents. *
