Draft Agritainment Ordinance


Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Upper Macungie Township shall conduct a second public hearing on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Upper Macungie Township Building at 8330 Schantz Road, Breinigsville, PA 18031.  The purpose of this hearing is to receive testimony; evidence and comment from interested parties and the public related to a proposed Amendments to the Upper Macungie Township Zoning Ordinance. 

The proposed amendment(s) to the Zoning Ordinance (proposed as Upper Macungie Township Ordinance No. 2018-05) amends Sections of Chapter 27 of the Codified Ordinances of Upper Macungie Township (Zoning) as hereinafter set forth.  Specifically, this ordinance amends Section §27-202. Terms Defined; Section §27-306 Table of Permitted Uses by District and Section §27-403.4. Additional Requirements for Accessory Uses (Agritainment and Agritourism) all of which are fully set forth in the body of this Ordinance which is on display at Upper Macungie Township Building.

This Ordinance is commonly referred to as the “Agritainment” or “Agritourism” Ordinance.

The general public shall have the right to attend and be heard.



SPLASH PARK UPDATE: The Grange Park Splash Park is open! A key card will be needed for access to the Splash Park. Please complete and return the Splash Park Card Request form to the Township building with payment in order to receive your key card. Rental of the pavilions does not guarantee access to the Splash Park. Please read the rules of use. Enjoy!


ROAD CLOSURE: Werley Road is scheduled to be closed starting Monday, July 9 and remain closed until Labor Day.  Please refer to the detour map for alternate routes.

SAFE SITTER CLASSES: Upper Macungie Township has partnered with The Nanny Loft to offer Safe Sitter® classes. The classes prepare students in grades 6-12 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if there’s severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use CPR manikins to practice choking rescue! Click here to register.

PPL will be conducting Herbicide Application in our Township: The work will be done on tall brush at 847 Mosser Road between Willard Drive and Twin Ponds Rd between June and September in order to ensure reliable power.
